Casa della Nonna: Six Weeks at LaManna
For six weeks between May and June, we did something slightly ridiculous.
We built Nonna's house inside LaManna Essendon Fields and invited Melbourne in.
Casa della Nonna was our biggest brand moment yet — part market stall, part living room, part open kitchen. We launched three flavours of Taralli, served hundreds of bowls of pasta on the Free Pasta Weekend, watched grown adults get genuinely competitive at Nonna's Spicy Meatball Challenge, and hosted a Bring Your Grandparents Day that ended, as these things do, with strangers swapping recipes.
What we didn't expect was how many people stayed. Not to shop — just to sit. People told us about their own nonnas, their own Sunday tables, the jar of chilli their family swears by. Which is the whole point of Bippi, honestly: the food is the invitation, the table is the destination.
The food is the invitation. The table is the destination.— Casa della Nonna
If you missed it, the full story — photos, numbers, and what we're carrying forward — is on the Casa della Nonna recap page. And the next chance to find us in person is already on the calendar: see What's On for Ferragosto and the Little Food Markets.
