This is where our story began. Around a family table. Here traditions were passed down from one generation to the next, recipes were shared and every meal brought the family a little closer. Bippi is our way of carrying those moments, and those recipes, from our family's table to yours.

1955

A NEW BEGINNING

In 1955, Nonna Emilia left Calabria, Italy, for the rural Victorian town of Mildura. Packed alongside her belongings were the family recipes she'd spent a lifetime enjoying, including her signature chilli, affectionately known as Bippi.

1960s–1980s

MILDURA ROOTS

Surrounded by the rich produce of Mildura, Nonna Emilia grew many of the ingredients that found their way onto the family table. Every jar of Bippi was made by hand and served with almost every meal—a tradition shared across generations.

1990s–2010s

RECIPES PASSED DOWN

As the family grew, so did the tradition. Recipes weren't written in books, they were taught around the kitchen bench, shared at Sunday lunches and perfected over decades. What began in Calabria continued to live on in every generation.

2020

Sharing Bippi With Australia

Sixty-five years after Nonna Emilia arrived in Australia, her grandson Ben set out to share the family's recipes beyond the dinner table. Combining authentic Italian tradition with premium Australian produce, Bippi was officially born.

Today, Bippi proudly sits on shelves in every Coles and Woolworths supermarket nationwide and hundreds of independent grocers across the country, with a growing range of Italian condiments, sauces and snacks made to be shared around the table.

Growing up, the best conversations in our family always happened around the table.

Every meal was made from scratch, every recipe had a story, and every jar of Bippi sat within arm's reach. It wasn't just about the food, it was about slowing down, sharing what you had, and making everyone feel welcome.

That's why I started Bippi.

To honour the recipes I grew up with, celebrate the traditions that shape me, and to make authentic Italian pantry staples that I would find in my nonna's pantry available for every home.
